In all our plans, we endeavor to embody the spirit of good relationship with open hearts and minds and with an extended hand to all.
Our Mission
First and foremost, we endeavor to serve our clients in the Boston area and throughout Massachusetts by providing the best possible counseling relationship.
Second, we endeavor to create a place for counselors to learn and grow. We believe that effective counseling requires honest self-assessment and rigorous self-work to ensure we can maintain the highest standards of care with compassion, curiosity, and authentic connection.
Third, we endeavor to create a community-level impact by promoting the field of counseling. We believe that the field of counseling is in dire need of thought leadership. We endeavor to contribute to future counselor generations by building a modern humanistic theory of counseling care based in practice not just academic theory.
Our Values
Our values are shaped by humanistic philosophy and the values, ethics, and standards of professional counseling as defined by the American Counseling Association:
Enhancing human development throughout the life span;
Honoring diversity and embracing a multicultural approach in support of the worth, dignity, potential, and uniqueness of people with their social and cultural contexts;
Promoting social justice;
Safeguarding the integrity of the counselor-client relationship; and
Practicing in a competent and ethical manner
In a nutshell, we believe in the power of relationship to provide safety, compassion, and perspective to help the mind fulfill its natural tendency for human development and self repair.
To create and maintain a therapeutic relationship, we adhere to a set of unshakeable principles - unconditional positive regard, genuineness, autonomy, veracity, compassion, kindness, non-maleficence, and justice.
