Relationship counseling is designed to directly address problems within a specific kind of relationship: a romantic partnership.
Relationships of all kinds can be difficult to establish and maintain. The human need to connect is powerful and of primary importance to our physical, mental, emotional, social, and sexual health. Often, there is a lot of pressure to make relationships work. Relationship counseling is designed to help partners figure out how to connect, how to stay connected, or how to disconnect amicably.
The goal of relationship counseling is often to help the relationship stay together with richness and happiness. Sometimes the goal is to help partners split from each other in the best way possible. I endeavor to help each individual within the partnership to discover their wants and needs and to communicate those needs effectively to the other individual.
I believe that healing always occurs within the context of secure relationships, and relationship counseling can be a hugely effective way of addressing both individual and partnership issues. This process is often highly emotional and charged with energy, but it is often a rewarding and powerful experience of healing.
I specialize in helping partners address sexual concerns. However, I work with a variety of relationships on a variety of issues. If you are unsure that my services match your needs, please feel free to contact my office for more information.
